Michael W. Michelson (Menlo Park) joined KKR in 1981. Mr. Michelson chairs KKR's Inclusion & Diversity Council and serves as a member of KKR's Management Committee and the Firm's Americas' Private Equity Investment and Americas' Portfolio Management Committees. Mr. Michelson has played a significant role in the development of KKR’s portfolio companies, including Accellent, Alliance Imaging, Amphenol, AutoZone, Beatrice Companies, Biomet, Dillingham, Golden West, HCA, Jazz Pharmaceuticals, KinderCare Learning Centers, Lily Tulip, M & T, Malone & Hyde, Fred Meyer, Owens-Illinois, and Union Texas Petroleum. He currently serves on the board of directors of Mills Fleet Farm and Zimmer Biomet. Mr. Michelson began his professional career with the law firm of Latham & Watkins in Los Angeles, where he was involved in a broad corporate practice while specializing in management buyouts. He has an A.B., cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Harvard College and a J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School.
