On Tuesday, September 12th, the American Heart Association (“AHA”) announced the results of their Workplace Health Achievement Index, and KKR received Gold-level recognition for taking significant steps to build a culture of health in the workplace. Companies awarded Gold are among those with top index scores.

While many employers offer workplace health programs, few have the data they need to know what works best and the know-how to implement best practices. Our experience working on wellness and our partnership with the AHA led our Co-CEO Henry Kravis to co-chair the CEO Roundtable beginning in 2013. The CEO Roundtable is a leadership team of more than 30 CEOs from some of America’s largest companies, including three CEOs from KKR portfolio companies, who are committed to applying evidence-based approaches to improve their employees’ overall health. The Workplace Health Achievement Index was created in partnership with the AHA’s CEO Roundtable members and uses science-based practices to evaluate the overall quality and comprehensiveness of their workplace health programs. A unique feature of the Index is that it calculates an average heart health score for employees of participating companies that securely submit aggregate health data.
