On November 13th, KKR was recognized as the Asian Venture Capital Journal's Asia Firm of the Year in its annual awards ceremony, in addition to winning Large-Cap Fundraise of the Year for KKR Asian Fund III and Deal of the 2000s for Oriental Brewery, a special award for the AVCJ's 30th anniversary event.
The AVCJ hosts the leading Asia Pacific-wide industry awards annually, and KKR took home the most trophies at this competitive event.
“In addition to closing its third pan-Asian fund, KKR announced 12 new deals and made distributions from seven investments during the 12 months ended September 22, 2017. This GP has been active in multiple markets - putting capital to work in China, Korea, India, Australia and Vietnam - but there was a strong Japan theme. Three corporate carve-outs were announced, of which two have closed, including Calsonic Kansei Corporation, the largest-ever PE-sponsored transaction in the country,” the AVCJ wrote of KKR's year.
