KKR has partnered with Norte Joven, an NGO in Madrid, Spain, that promotes the social and labor integration of socially and economically disadvantaged young people and adults. Norte Joven focuses their efforts on vocational training, including: carpentry, culinary arts, electrical, plumbing, and retail. They also focus on academic schooling, training for personal and social development, and employment placement in the community. On Tuesday, November 25, 2014, KKR held a fundraising event on behalf of Norte Joven’s work in addition to its own financial commitment, which will go towards the refurbishment of one of its vocational centers. Going forward, KKR will work with its portfolio companies and other partners in Spain to further support and expand upon the important work of Norte Joven.
