Brad Bailey (Washington DC) joined KKR in 2024 and is a Managing Director on the Public Policy and Affairs team, where he helps the firm and its portfolio companies navigate regulatory and legislative matters. Mr. Bailey advises investment teams and business leaders on public policy developments, regulatory risk, and government engagement. Prior to joining KKR, he held high-level roles in the U.S. government. Mr. Bailey was a senior official at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, where he was the principal liaison to Congress on economic, financial, and international policy. He oversaw the Treasury Department’s Office of Legislative Affairs, receiving the Distinguished Service Award for his leadership. In the U.S. Congress, he served as the economic policy advisor to U.S. House Speaker John Boehner and as legislative director to Representative Pat Tiberi, focusing on a broad portfolio of tax, trade, retirement, and financial services issues. Mr. Bailey brings extensive private-sector experience to his role at KKR. He led government affairs for the American Investment Council, directing the private equity industry’s advocacy on tax, regulatory, and capital markets policy. Previously, he was a member of two of Washington’s leading government relations firms, advising Fortune 100 companies and major trade associations on federal legislative and regulatory matters. Mr. Bailey earned his B.S. in Finance from Miami University and his J.D. and LL.M. in Taxation from the Georgetown University Law Center.
