Vathsa Gopinath

Vathsa Gopinath (Boston) joined KKR in 2023 and is a Managing Director and the firm’s Global Head of Investment Operations and Investment Control. In this role, he oversees Front-to-Back Investment Operations and Investment Control functions, including asset allocation and pre-trade compliance. Mr. Gopinath previously served as Head of Investment Management for KKR’s insurance business (Global Atlantic), where he was responsible for investment operations, COO, and Chief of Staff functions. Before joining KKR, he spent four years at Bank of New York Mellon as head of trade operations in Middle Office and head of alternative funds administration, with a focus on hedge funds and real estate funds. Earlier in his career, Mr. Gopinath spent thirteen years with Goldman Sachs Asset Management in New York and London, holding a variety of leadership roles across the GSAM business Operations. Mr. Gopinath holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Bangalore University and is a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He also earned an MBA from Fordham University and is a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM).
