Weiyu Tan

Weiyu Tan (Hong Kong) joined KKR in 2007 in Private Equity covering Southeast Asia and Greater China. While a member of the KKR Private Equity team, Mr. Tan was actively involved in the investments in MMI, Unisteel, Yageo and in 2013, he led the structuring and execution of KKR’s investment in Qingdao Haier. In 2014, Mr. Tan moved to KKR Capital Markets and was responsible for the execution of equity and debt-related transactions for KKR acquisitions, KKR portfolio companies as well as third party clients in Asia. His transaction experience in Asia for both private equity and KKR Capital Markets includes Unisteel, Qingdao Haier, Far Eastern Horizon, Yageo, Riverview, United Envirotech, Goodpack, Pioneer DJ, Weststar, Sunner, China Modern Dairy and MMI. Prior to joining KKR, Mr. Tan was with JP Morgan Securities in New York and was involved in a variety of mergers, acquisitions, leveraged finance and other corporate advisory transactions in the energy sector. He holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Chicago.
